Product Designer
Overview
Stathletes is revolutionizing professional hockey data and analytics for the world’s premier leagues, teams, players, agents, media, sportsbooks and digital platforms. Our mission is to offer the most comprehensive dataset in sports to drive the most accurate and insightful statistical analysis available in the market.
And we're looking for an experienced Product Designer to join our team! As a key member you will collaborate closely with product, engineering, data, and our client success teams to craft intuitive, impactful experiences across our products that serve internal teams, sports clubs, media, and the world's premier hockey leagues.
The Role
As a Product Designer you'll drive the end-to-end design process for key products and features: from discovery and problem framing, through interaction and visual design, to partnering with engineers on high-quality implementation. You will work closely with product management to understand customer needs, define problems, and explore solution spaces. You will turn complex data and workflows into simple, elegant interfaces that help our users make better decisions, faster.
You will:
- Partner with product, engineering, and data teams to define and solve high-impact problems
- Lead UX and interaction design for new features and products, from low-fidelity concepts to polished designs
- Create user flows, wireframes, prototypes, and high-fidelity visuals that communicate clear design intent
- Contribute to and help evolve our design systems and component libraries
- Run and synthesize user research, usability testing, and feedback sessions
- Advocate for users and usability while balancing technical and business constraints
- Collaborate closely with engineers to ensure high-quality implementation of designs
- Help shape how we integrate advanced analytics, AI, and machine learning into intuitive, trustworthy experiences
This role provides an exciting opportunity to shape the way people interact with cutting-edge sports data and analytics, and to help define how the world creates and consumes sports data.
About You
We would love to hear from you if you have:
- Experience designing end-to-end experiences for B2B or complex data products
- A portfolio that demonstrates strong interaction design, visual design, and problem solving
- Experience working closely with product managers and engineers in an agile environment
- Strong communication skills and the ability to clearly articulate design decisions
- Proficiency with modern design and prototyping tools (Figma or similar)
- Experience running user interviews, usability tests, or other research activities
- Comfort working with constraints and iterating quickly based on feedback and data
- A product mindset with strong competencies in prioritization, trade-offs, and balancing user and business needs
- A passion for shipping high-quality, thoughtful user experiences
Nice-to-haves:
- Experience designing for analytics products, dashboards, or other data-heavy interfaces
- Experience with design systems, component libraries, and documentation
- Familiarity with frontend technologies (for example, React, TypeScript, HTML/CSS) and how design decisions translate into implementation
- Experience working with AI/ML-powered products or features
- Knowledge of sports analytics or related domains
- A love of hockey, and/or a passion for delivering data products
